Predator in the upper infralittoral.
 
Original taxon: Mitra ebenus. A synonym is ebenina Locard, who points out: « In addition to its well-defined curve, this species will always be recognized by its black-brown colour, with a narrow line of yellowish-white that stands out near the top of the last whorl and on the preceding ones; in addition, but exclusively towards the summit, there are some more or less attenuated longitudinal ribs. » – Locard & Caziot: “Les coquilles marines des côtes de Corse” part I, Annales de la Société Linnéenne de Lyon vol. 46, Lyon 1900, p.233.
