| Central Mediterranean, in the Sicily channel and the Gulf of Gabès. Predator at least in the low infralittoral (zone of sponges in Monterosato). The shell is smaller and paler than in the other european members of the genus, with slightly more convex whorls and a weaker spiral sculpture. Compared to that of septangularis, the shell of flexicosta is stockier. Above and below: a specimen trawled at 60-80m deep, off Malta. 6,3mm. |
