Steromphala rarilineata (Michaud, 1829)

Mediterranean. Grazer and deposit feeder in the very shallow infralittoral. Original taxon: Trochus rarilineatus. Synonyms: crimeana, purpurata… Under rocks at low tide, Málaga, Andalucia, S. Spain. 13mm.

Cap d’Agde, S. France. 6-11mm. The suture is much less pronounced than in divaricata, the worls are less convex, the purple blotches smaller and less numerous, the basis is flat to concave.
