S. Norway and western Baltic to Canarias, Azores and Madeira to Alborán Sea. Intertidal to 20m deep, on various sheltered bottoms, but not in mud. Scavenger. Original taxon: Buccinum reticulatum. Many synonyms: anglicum, cancellata, chrysostomum, coronata, minor… limicola…

The egg-capsules look like flat brandy bottles, attached at their bases to the substract, with a neck at the opposite extremity. These capsules are similar to those of Tritia nitida, but they are constantly larger in size (heights: circa 4,07mm for reticulata vs. 2,65mm for nitida), and more rounded in shape (source: Senckenberg Marinvert).
