Zafra selasphora (Melvill & Standen, 1901)

Persian Gulf to eastern Mediterranean. Predator in the infralittoral. Original taxon: Columbella selasphora. The species differs from Zafra savignyi by its slightly less slender shape, the more numerous axials (about 18 on the last whorl), the lack of subsutural brown flamules, and by the labial teeth, which are absent in savignyi.   In tidal pool, Kale, Iskenderun, SE. Turkey. 4mm.

The shell differs also from that of troglodytes by the lack of subsutural banding, and by the weaker radial sculpture. 8m deep, in shell grit, Taşucu, south of Silifke, Mersin Province, SE. Turkey. 4,23mm.
