Synonyms: corallina Poli, elongata von Born, felipes Locard.
The shape is subtriangular; the valves are longer than larger, almost equivalve, slightly inequilateral, and convex; The sculpture is made up of 7-8 radiating folds, separated from each other by interspaces as wide as the folds; some commarginal growth-marks occur. Microsculpture made up of numerous thin radiating striae. Anterior ears well developed, posterior ears obsolete. Six teeth on the ctelonium. Colour orange to red, pale to deep, occasionnally adorned with irregular lighter and/or darker mountain-shaped marks. |
